Breaks Record Electric Car to Reach 100 KM

Electric mobility still shows the potential of what can be in the medium-term future.

In recent days, a group of students from the University of Stuttgart reached a new record of acceleration for a car with electric propulsion.

In a surprising figure, they achieved a speed of 0-100 kph in 1.79 seconds.

Surprising, if you consider that in the aspirated cars, the record acceleration in 2.5 seconds at the wheel of a Bugatti Veyron.

The record was reached by the Green Team at the University of Stuttgart in Germany.

The car in which students of this group got the brand, is a formula, coal or fiber monocoque chassis and aluminum and titanium type.

The vehicle has four electric thrusters which together deliver a greater than 100 kilowatts.

In addition, the vehicle has a weight of 160 kilos, which together with its power capability gives a ratio of weight to power almost ideal, by allowing each kilo is pushed by a kilowatt, also adding the advantage of an electric car to have torque capacity available from the beginning of travel.

Bauer Sachs, project leader, told through the team page this record can be compared with the initial sprint that requires a vehicle of the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula 1, which is 2.5 seconds to reach the same indicator .
